Microsoft have now put back the roll out of automatic VISTA SP1 updates until mid April 2008.
For those like me, sick of waiting... it is available for manual download here;

Ok, so we're all installed. The first and only problem was that I had no sound. Using the error code provided, I simply downloaded an updated driver (that windows update could/would not provide), installed and now we're good to go!
If I discover any further issues, I'll post here.
